This is the level of modern smartphones

Recently, iFixit specialists disassembled the Apple Vision Pro headset and showed its design from the inside. Now they have gone further, including assessing maintainability.

It turned out to be low, but still not catastrophically low, as one might think after evaluating the design. The four points that iFixit gave the headset is a quite typical result for many modern smartphones, and the Vision Pro is much more complex inside.

As for the teardown, for example, the authors rated the headset screens as having an incredible pixel density of 3,386 pixels per inch. For clarity, the authors give the following analogy: one pixel of the iPhone 15 Pro screen will fit more than 50 pixels of the Vision Pro display. It is thanks to this that users note the incredible clarity of the image in the headset.

You can also evaluate the new motherboard. It consists of two halves connected by a flexible cable. On one of the halves, the Apple M2 single-chip system, which is familiar to Mac, is installed, which seems quite large for such a device. The second one houses the Apple R1 SoC, which also has a fairly large crystal.

The external battery of the device also looks interesting. If only because there is not one battery inside, but three at once.
