Russia has completed the development of components for the spacecraft «Express-AMU4» – microwave switch actuators that will be used to control the satellite payload. As reported in Rostec, delivery of the devices has already begun.
Actuators, or actuators, act as a functional element of automatic control systems, which include electric motors, electric and hydraulic drives, relay devices, and manipulators. As part of the satellite «Express-AMU4» These devices will allow microwave switches to switch Ku- and C-band radio signals over spacecraft payload equipment channels, providing data transmission, fixed and mobile communications, as well as digital television broadcasting.
«When developing the new ECU, special attention was paid to the fault tolerance of the products and the telemetry system, since the actuators will be used in the payload of the spacecraft. By mid-2025, we intend to transfer to the customer the entire planned volume of components», – said General Director of SKTB RT Alexey Dymovskikh.
Communication satellite «Express-AMU4» should become the first Russian spacecraft created using foreign components.
