Iranian automobile company Khodro Bank announced the extension of production of the iconic Peugeot Pars sedan. This car is a restyled version of the legendary Peugeot 405, produced in the late 1980s.

The decision to resume assembly of Pars was made due to the unprecedented excitement around this model. According to the company, demand for the car significantly exceeded supply, long lines of people wishing to purchase Pars formed, and some dealers began to speculate, inflating prices.

To meet growing demand, Khodro Bank has extended the Peugeot Pars production cycle by another three months until early summer 2024. The last copies of this car were supposed to roll off the assembly line at the beginning of this year.

The revival of the Peugeot Pars caused a great stir in Iran, where this sedan is considered one of the symbols of the national automobile industry. Many car enthusiasts appreciate it for its simplicity, reliability and ease of operation.

Peugeot Pars were produced for almost 24 years, while production in Iran started several years after the end of assembly of the original model: Peugeot 405 was produced in France in 1987 –1997.

The platform and frame elements of this model are used in the more modern IKCO Soren+ model, the production of which will be increased.
