While Samsung is just getting ready to conquer the smart ring market with its Galaxy Ring, Circular is releasing the second generation of its Ring Slim. The 2024 model adds new health tracking features, improved battery life, and is billed as the world's thinnest and lightest smart ring.
The original Ring Slim, which debuted in November 2023, was criticized for its poor battery life, app glitches, and inaccurate data tracking. Seven months later, Circular releases the 2024 model, eliminating the problems that plagued its predecessor.
Improved features include a new sleep tracking algorithm and more accurate heart rate monitoring during exercise. This allows the wearable to monitor heart rate, SpO2 levels, temperature and breathing rate during sleep for deeper analysis. The company even claims that its new algorithm is 79% accurate in recognizing sleep disorders.
Circular Ring Slim (2024) comes with the Kira+ app for tracking and analyzing health data, and there is no monthly subscription fee.
Ring Slim physically looks the same as its predecessor, but is now IP68 certified for dust and water resistance. In addition, the scratch-resistant coating has improved. Circular now bundles the Ring Slim with a compact USB-C charger. The thickness of the ring is 2.2 mm, and the mass – 2 grams. In Performance mode, Ring Slim can work for the stated 2 days, and in Eco mode, the operating time increases to 5–6 days. The price of the new item was 260 euros.
