The successor to the BAW BJ212 will get rid of bridges
In China, a new SUV appeared on road tests – successor to the legendary BAW BJ212. The new model is wrapped in camouflage, but it looks like it will retain the design cues of the current model with round headlights and accentuated fenders. But this is where the similarity between the two models, apparently, ends.
The successor to the BAW BJ212 will have a new, modern and more spacious body and a new chassis with spring suspensions. The frame structure will most likely remain, but the frame itself will be new. The interior will obviously not be as spartan as that of the BAW BJ212.
It is not reported when the official premiere of the successor to the BAW BJ212 will take place. Perhaps the new product will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April of this year. Let us remind you that the BAW BJ212 traces its history back to the Soviet GAZ-69 and UAZ-469.
