IDC analysts assessed the tablet market based on the results of the first quarter of 2024.
During this period, the market remained almost unchanged in annual terms: sales increased by 0.5%, to 30.8 million units. At the same time, the indicators of market leaders, on the contrary, changed either noticeably or very strongly.
For example, Huawei sales increased almost one and a half times, to 2.9 million units, thanks to which the company confidently took third place, and Xiaomi shipments almost doubled, to 1.8 million, and the company took fifth place on the leaderboard. Lenovo, which was in fourth place, also increased its supplies by 13.2%.
But the leaders, Apple and Samsung, on the contrary, showed a decline in sales by 8.5% and 5.8%, respectively. Apple now holds 32% of the market, while Samsung's share is 21.7%.
Thus, we can say that buyers were more willing to purchase branded tablets from top manufacturers, but not Apple or Samsung.
