“I can learn a lot.” The creator of Elden Ring enjoys playing other soulslikes

Hidetaka Miyazaki is known for Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Elden Ring, giving rise to an entire subgenre of video games.

In an interview, the game director said that he often plays Souls-like games from other studios and believes that he still has a lot to learn. Miyazaki explained that the developers have a common goal: to offer users the best possible gaming experience.

“As a gamer, I really spend a lot of time playing Souls-likes . I'm really pleased to see how many games there are in this genre. On the other hand, as a developer, I understand that I can learn a lot from others.”

“On In the early stages of developing Demon's Souls, we followed the trends of the moment and took into account the wishes of gamers. As developers, we must continue to learn and explore together because we share the same goals: to offer players a better gaming experience.”

Recall that the release of the first and only add-on Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is scheduled for June 21, 2024.
