The production of a pilot batch has started
Gorky Automobile Plant has begun production of a pilot batch of medium-duty trucks of the new generation «Valdai 12», as reported by «Avtopotok».
The model is assembled on the main conveyor belt of the enterprise in parallel with other GAZ commercial vehicles. The truck with a gross weight of 12 tons is designed to strengthen GAZ’s position in the medium-duty equipment segment and compete with foreign analogues.
Compared to its predecessor, the new «Valdai» received many improvements. These include a modern cabin with a high level of comfort, an economical diesel engine of environmental class Euro-6, a new gearbox and a reinforced frame. At the same time, a significant part of the components for the truck are produced in Russia.
It is assumed that «Valdai 12» will be widely used in various areas of business — from urban transportation to construction. It is expected that «Valdai 12» will cost significantly less than foreign competitors with a comparable level of quality and functionality.
