A compact data center will be launched on the territory of the Barneo ice camp

The RuVDS provider team shared some interesting news. The company is currently working on an experiment to deploy server equipment in the Arctic. As the press service reported, the server equipment will be dropped from the Il-76.

The world's first stratospheric jump to the North Pole from a height of more than 10 thousand meters will be carried out from the same plane.

The jump is planned to take place from April 2 to April 6, 2024. The record will be set by Hero of Russia, cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko, instructor pilot Alexander Lynnik and director of «Stratonautika» Denis Efremov.

As RuVDS noted, the data center is designed to operate in extreme conditions. It will be launched on the territory of the Barneo ice camp located in close proximity to the North Pole. Server equipment delivered to the camp will maintain contact with the RuVDS satellite, transmitting its telemetry through it.
