iOS 17.5.1 update released

Apple urgently released an official update to iOS 17.5.1, which fixes the error «reappearance of deleted photos».

Apple stated that «resurrected» photos — These are mostly user photos taken before 2010. This problem, according to Apple, is not caused by the iCloud service, but by corrupted database entries in the device's file system itself.

Apple said that photos that were not completely deleted on the user’s device were not synced with iCloud Photos, and these photos remained hidden all this time only on the users’ smartphones themselves.

However, these files may have been transferred from one device to another when restoring from a backup, migrating between devices, or restoring from an iCloud backup without using iCloud Photos.

Previously, Apple's technical consultant also emphasized that even if users' photos have been uploaded to iCloud, Apple will not be able to see them, so there is no need to worry about the privacy and security of your data.
