There is growth in other segments as well
According to Mercury Research analysts, in the fourth quarter of last year, AMD was able to significantly increase its share in the processor market.
In general, in quantitative terms, the company now occupies 20.2% of the CPU market compared to 17.1% a year before. In monetary terms, AMD's share increased from 13.3% to 15.4%.
In the desktop segment, AMD showed the smallest growth: by 1.2 percentage points, to 19.8%. In monetary terms, the growth was approximately the same: by 1.3 percentage points, to 15.9%.
70% of all consumer processors are now mobile CPUs. PC processor shipments grew 22%
AMD's growth was stronger in the mobile segment. The company's share in quantitative terms has already increased by 3.9 percentage points, amounting to 20.3%, and in monetary terms it reached 15%.
Well, AMD shows itself strongest in the server segment, where the company’s share has been actively growing for several years now. Now AMD occupies 23.1% there in quantitative terms, and in monetary terms it is 31.1%! This corresponds to an increase of 5.5 and 4 percentage points
