It shows the rear LED strip
Mazda joint venture Changan has released the first official teaser image of the all-new Mazda Atenza, aka Mazda6. The image shows the LED strip that runs along the trunk lid and connects the lights.
Interestingly, the Chinese media have already published a photo of the lantern itself. Perhaps the image was taken somewhere in a factory where pre-production samples are assembled.
At the same time, new technical details became known. The new Mazda6 will reportedly be built on the Changan Deep Blue SL03 sedan platform. These vehicles will probably be similar in size and power plants.
Dimensions of Changan Deep Blue SL03 are 4820 x 1890 x 1480 mm, wheelbase — 2900 mm. The electric version is equipped with motors with a power of 217 and 258 hp, as well as traction batteries with a capacity of 58 and 78 kW·h (power reserve, respectively, 515 and 712 km).
The hybrid — 1.5-liter engine with 95 hp. and an electric motor with a power of 217 hp, a traction battery with a capacity of 30 kW·h. Power reserve on pure electricity — 200 km, total range — 1200 km.
At the moment, there is nothing to indicate that the new Mazda6 will have a hybrid version: the car will be called the Mazda EZ-6, and it will receive an electric powertrain. It is not yet clear whether this car will be officially sold outside of China, but Mazda previously registered the Mazda 6e trademark in Europe.
