Larian Studios CEO and Baldur's Gate 3 director Sven Vincke said that the team intends to release “a very large role-playing game” so ambitious that “all the studio's previous games will seem tiny.”

Given the lofty ambitions of Larian Studios' new project, the head of the development team admitted that it may have to take advantage of next-gen hardware, the PS6 and the next Xbox.

< p>“I think we need technology that is not yet on the market. And I don’t yet know what the technical characteristics of the next generation of game consoles will be, but I sincerely hope that they can come closer to what we have in mind.”

Vincke did not share additional information about the new Larian Studios game, but reiterated that the studio has no plans to develop any DLC for Baldur's Gate 3 and Baldur's Gate 4.

Given Sven Vincke's statements, it seems obvious that the release of a new ambitious game will not happen for another 5-6 years. Fans need to be patient.
