After 10 years of development, the full version of KeeperRL has been released. This is an ambitious mixture of Dwarf Fortress and Dungeon Keeper

Since 2014, KeeperRL has released several alpha versions and conducted a successful funding campaign on IndieGogo. After it went through a vote on Steam Greenlgiht, ten years and several dozen updates later, the game appeared in version 1.0.

KeeperRL is a dungeon simulator with roguelike and RPG elements. Just like its mastermind, the player takes on the role of an evil wizard and controls a growing squad of minions to dig a dungeon, set traps and wait for enemies to attack. You can venture beyond the confines of your settlement to slaughter innocent people, or switch roles and play as an adventurer, invading other players' dungeons for turn-based tactical combat.

According to the developer, KeeperRL will continue to receive balance fixes and additions post-launch, as well as the 1.1 update, which will add “more content and gameplay not included in version 1.0, including another playable Guardian faction.”
