Zeekr insists that the Zeekr 001 battery is fully protected from spontaneous combustion

Zeekr 001 is the most popular new electric car in Russia, the more interesting are the details about its updated version, which will officially debut in China on February 27. New data appeared thanks to bloggers and journalists who have already managed to test the car.

With the update, the Zeekr 001 switched to a high-voltage system with a voltage of 800 V. This allowed for a significant reduction in charging speed: the 95 kWh traction iron-phosphate battery is reportedly charged from 10% to 80% of the total in 11.5 minutes. However, for this you need to connect the car to the appropriate terminal. Charging a traction nickel-cobalt-manganese battery with a capacity of 100 kW·h by the same 70% takes a little longer— 15 minutes.

The top version of the car with all-wheel drive has become more powerful by 244 hp. — power increased to 788 hp. Accordingly, the dynamics have improved: the liftback accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.3 s instead of 3.9 s previously.

Zeekr 001 is now unified with the top-end Zeekr 001 FR in appearance, steering wheel and dashboard with a 13-inch screen. The car also received a 35.5-inch diagonal projection screen and the latest Qualcomm 8295 SoC as part of the infotainment system.

Finally, in marketing materials for the updated Zeekr 001, the company insists that the electric vehicle's traction battery is fully protected from spontaneous combustion. Let us remember that recently a scandal erupted in China when a parked Zeekr 001 caught fire in the parking lot simply by itself. After this, Geely Vice President Yang Xueliang promised to reconsider the brand’s marketing strategy; on social networks, Zeekr stopped calling itself a brand protected from spontaneous combustion.
