Viewers of PGL Major Copenhagen came to watch the confrontation between professional players in Counter-Strike 2, but received a slightly different show
An incident occurred at the Counter-Strike 2 tournament, which ultimately led to the destruction of the trophy. The fact is that a strange man ran onto the stage of PGL Major Copenhagen.
The security service reacted to what was happening as expected and chased after him – he stopped near the trophy and threw his hands up as if rejoiced at the goal achieved. During the arrest, a group of people “luckily” fell right on the trophy and it fell apart into pieces.
Judging by the comment (and some post-calls) from a representative of CSGOEmpire – a gambling site where players use virtual skins from Counter-Strike 2 as “money”, it was this group that organized the daring operation with a person running out (but breaking a trophy, didn't seem to be part of the plan):
«Some of our people are lying on the ground in handcuffs. But we fucking did it, guys“.
As far as we know, this is due to the fact that the G2 Esports team is sponsored platform CSGORoll, which CSGOEmpire calls a “fraudulent casino.”
Nevertheless, Counter-Strike 2 fans are not discouraged: photos of a brand new trophy for the tournament have already appeared on the Internet (it is assumed that The 3D printer has been hard at work here.) Also, viewers of Major Copenhagen published a photo of the police squad that arrived to guard the event.
