One runs on methane, the other runs on diesel
At the COMvex 2024 exhibition, the Yaroslavl Motor Plant presented a large 12-cylinder V-shaped diesel engine with a power of 1054 hp, but two more new models debuted along with it — simpler. They have 6 cylinders.
YaMZ-537 CNG — in-line engine with a volume of 7.7 liters. As the name suggests, it runs on gas — compressed methane. Power varies from 210 to 300 hp, maximum torque — from 830 to 1250 N·m.
YaMZ-770 — runs on diesel fuel, and it is more powerful — from 360 to 620 hp, and the torque in the top version reaches 2550 N·m. The fuel supply system of this 12.4-liter engine — battery type with microprocessor control. According to Avtovzglyad, the cylinder block and head are made of cast iron, but the pistons can be either aluminum (in versions with power up to 550 hp) or steel (with power from 550 to 620 hp). s.).
Battery-type fuel supply with microprocessor control is also used in the new 4-cylinder YaMZ-535 engine. The engine capacity is 5.1 liters, power — from 170 to 260 hp Torque, respectively, from 780 to 890 N·m.
