Group of companies «Industrial investments» completed preparations for the restart of the Volvo Trucks plant in Kaluga. The official launch of the car plant under a new name will take place on December 14, as reported by the press service of the regional government.

Recall that the deal to purchase the former Volvo Trucks plant in Russia was completed on November 23, 2023. The company has already begun temporary assembly of machines, as we reported earlier. The group of companies «Industrial Investments», which bought the plant, produces all-wheel drive (three-axle) trucks «Ural Next» at the site.

The Volvo Trucks truck plant was launched in Kaluga in 2009. It was used for welding, painting and assembly of cabins. The capacity of the Kaluga plant is 15 thousand units of equipment per year. In 2021, the Russian representative office of Volvo sold 5,692 new trucks. The production of trucks at the Kaluga plant ceased in February 2022.
