High-quality renderings of not only smartphones, but also accessories have been published
The Windows Report resource has published high-quality renders of the Asus ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro smartphones, as well as their detailed characteristics. And this despite the fact that the official premiere of global versions will take place only on January 8, 2024, and in China smartphones will be presented on January 16.
But the characteristics can be assessed now. The smartphones will receive the top-end SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but the regular version will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory, and the Pro version will have 16/512 GB and 24 GB/1 TB variants.
Both models will have Samsung AMOLED screens with a diagonal of 6.78 inches and protection in the form of tempered glass Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but the ROG Phone 8 Pro will have a frame rate of 165 Hz (the frame rate of the base version screen is not reported).
Windows Report does not list the camera specs for the base model. And the ROG Phone 8 Pro will have sensors with a resolution of 50 MP (Sony IMX890, in the main module), 13 MP (in the module with an ultra-wide-angle lens) and 32 MP (in the module with a telephoto lens with 3x zoom). The front camera will have a 32-megapixel sensor.
Smartphones will receive Android 14, IP68 protection, standard headphone jacks, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 adapters, NFC chips, and 5500 mAh batteries. Dimensions and weight of Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro — 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9 mm and 225 grams.
