438.7 km/h is a new speed record for an electric vehicle, set by the Aspark SP600. But the Bugatti Chiron is still far away

The previous record belonged to Rimac Nevera

The Japanese electric hypercar Aspark SP600 set a speed record for electric vehicles, accelerating to 438.7 km/h.

The record was set at a training ground in Papenburg, Germany. At the same time, the previous record was broken by a fairly large margin — Rimac Nevera back in 2022 was able to develop only 412 km/h.

Aspark SP600 is an Owl model with a number of modifications from the Italians from Manifattura Automobili Torino. It is known that the Owl boasts a power of 2012 hp, but for the SP600 there is no such data.

Recall that the speed record for a production car belongs to the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ — 490.5 km/h.
