Digital Foundry specialists analyzed in detail the gameplay of the new Ubisoft game and confirmed the use of new technologies that will have a beneficial effect on image quality, including Ray Traced Global Illumination.

Light will be blocked by certain elements to reduce the appearance of unnatural lighting, for example in rooms. This works well for small spaces, but small objects lack adequate shading. Additionally, some lighting effects appear when the player gets close enough.

DF pays attention to reflections. Many of them have noticeable artifacts. Even in a short video, there was a lot of aliasing associated with shadows. This can be seen in the scenes as well. The shadows look similar to those seen in previous games in the series.

Interaction with the environment is commendable, although it is limited in gameplay. Gameplay is presented at 30 frames per second. Digital Foundry hopes that the stuttering will disappear by release. Performance mode also remains an open question. Experts noted that it wouldn't be difficult for Ubisoft to implement 60 frames per second, since the company has already made beautiful games with graphical options to choose from. An example is Avatar Frontiers of Pandora with three graphics modes.
