YaMZ-7511 replaced the American Cummins QSX 15
engine
Yaroslavl Motor Plant announced the adaptation of its YaMZ-7511 diesel engine for use in the American-made New Holland TJ 450 tractor. The new kit has successfully passed field tests.
During this process, two technical problems were solved: the power of the YaMZ-7511 was increased to 420 hp, and the engine was transferred from mechanical to electronic control, including the installation of an electronic speed controller.
Despite the fact that the power of the YaMZ-7511 is slightly less (by 30 hp) than that of the American Cummins QSX 15 engine, which was previously used in the tractor, the customer consciously agreed to this option. Electronic control has been introduced to match the automatic calibration of the New Holland tractors' gearbox, which adjusts according to load. A block for matching the signals of the regulator and the tractor was also created and the basic program was adapted.
In the future, the Yaroslavl Motor Plant plans to replace Cummins engines on New Holland tractors of the TJ 480 and 500 models with its YaMZ-65802 motors with a power of 530 hp.
«Remotorization allows us to solve the problem of shortage and high cost of spare parts needed for equipment of brands that have fled from Russia», — stated at the factory.
