This is how the Spanish Cupra moved to China
In China, the Volkswagen Anhui plant has started production of the Cupra Tavascan electric crossover. Moreover, we are talking about a model for the European market: this model will be exported from China to Europe. In 2024, the same plant will begin producing a new electric model — already for the domestic Chinese market.
Volkswagen used to have two joint ventures in China: SAIC-Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen. Volkswagen Anhui – the third, and it specializes exclusively in electric vehicles.
Cupra Tavascan is built on the MEB platform and, in fact, is an analogue of the Volkswagen ID. 5. The dimensions of the crossover are 4644 x 1861 x 1597 mm with a wheelbase length of 2766 mm. The basic version has rear-wheel drive and 286 hp, the top version — all-wheel drive and 340 hp. Traction battery capacity — 77 kW·h, power reserve of the rear-wheel drive version — 550 km, all-wheel drive — 520 km.
