For SSD of different segments

The Chinese company Maxio Technology introduced a whole line of PCIe 5.0 controllers for SSDs. The controllers are aimed at different segments, ranging from client to corporate.

The family consists of three controllers: MAP1803 for enterprise level with support for 3D NAND and data transfer rates up to 3200 MT/s, MAP1802 for high-performance client drives with support for 3D NAND with data transfer rates up to 4800 MT/s and MAP1806 for mid-range client SSDs that can use 3D NAND with transfer rates up to 3600 MT/s

The controllers themselves support read speeds up to 14-14.8 GB/s and write speeds up to 13.5-14.4 GB/s. Performance on read operations can reach 3.4-3.5 million IOPS, and on write operations — 3.5-4.5 million IOPS. The maximum capacity of the SSDs themselves in the order of the controllers listed above is 64, 8 and 16 TB.

In terms of overall features, the MAP1800 PCIe Gen5 series controllers are quite similar: they are all NVMe 2.0 compliant and support 4K LDPC error correction to support current and next-generation 3D NAND devices.

Maxio has so far demonstrated only the chips themselves, but not the SSD based on them. These will apparently appear later this year or early next year.
