Google is preparing to introduce a new feature for its Pixel smartphones. Its essence is to search for unknown phone numbers by pressing one button.
The function is called Lookup. It appears in the menu by clicking on an unknown number in the call list. The Lookup button starts a Google search for that unknown number.
You can search for a phone number only after calling, but it may still be useful to someone. Of course, this is primarily aimed at cases when a call came from some company whose number is somewhere on the Internet. Finding a private number often won’t help, nor will it help protect you from scammers. However, Google has a spam filter for the latter.
A similar function had previously appeared on Google smartphones in Japan under a slightly different name. Now it looks like it's about to hit the global market.
