Power supply was restored only on March 11

The German Tesla Gigafactory was reconnected to the power grid, but the plant remained without power for a whole week.

Because of this, the work of the Berlin Tesla Gigafactory in Germany was suspended from March 5 to 12. The company responsible for the power supply said late Monday, March 11, that the plant could start operating again.

Tesla previously said it would gradually restart systems at the plant once power was restored. It is reported that the plant currently employs approximately 12,500 employees.

The power outage kept Tesla from producing about 1,000 cars a day. Last week, the plant's manager said losses due to power outages would reach hundreds of millions of euros.

Last week, environmental extremists damaged a substation, leaving the Tesla plant, the city of Erkner and parts of Berlin without electricity.
