Chinese Loongson, a manufacturer of processors of the same name, spoke about a significant increase in CPU shipments in the home market: in the first quarter, the same number of Loongson 3A5000 and 3A6000 CPUs were shipped as they were shipped in the entire last year.
The company said revenue from chip sales this year «will increase to a certain extent» compared to 2023. Loongson will also adjust its sales strategy: the company will sell less complex solutions (ready-made PCs), and will sell more components — boards with CPU.
At the moment, Loongson is actively promoting computers equipped with Loongson CPUs. According to ITHOme, about 10,000 computers based on the Loongson 3A5000 CPU have entered primary and secondary schools in Hebi, a city in Henan Province, China, pre-installed with the UOS operating system and WPS office software.
