A replacement for Henry Cavill in The Witcher has been found, but Netflix's choice of actor traditionally causes controversy online
In the next seasons of the Netflix series The Witcher, Geralt played by Henry Cavill will no longer be present. Now this role has gone to Liam Hemsworth.
It is expected that such changes are not liked by a certain circle of people – a “negative field” has formed online around Liam’s person. They haven’t even seen him in character, but they already “know for sure” that he won’t cope and everything will look bad.
Freya Allan, who played Ciri in the Netflix series The Witcher , asked to give the new Geralt a chance:
“I wouldn't like to speak for him, but from what I gather, I feel like he really wants to try and put his soul into [the Netflix series]. [He trains a lot for the role of Geralt.] Honestly, I feel bad for him because this fan base [of The Witcher franchise] can be very aggressive and it's not an ideal situation to take on someone else's role. But I really want to see what he does. And he's such a wonderful guy. I just hope people [give it a chance], you know?»
