It will be able to work in both simple and adverse weather conditions
As we already wrote, today, April 15, Russia and Belarus signed an agreement on the joint production of the Osvey light multipurpose aircraft. And now some details about this project have appeared: the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation reported that «Osvey» will be able to carry up to 19 passengers.
The new aircraft will be a multi-purpose twin-engine turboprop aircraft that will be able to perform a wide range of aerial work, including in remote and hard-to-reach areas. The aircraft will be certified according to civil airworthiness standards and will be able to operate in simple and difficult weather conditions, the ministry said.
The developers of the aircraft «Osvey» must ensure competitiveness with foreign analogues, for example, the Cessna 408 SkyCourier or DHC-6 300 Twin Otter. Russia and Belarus will finance the project on a parity basis, but technical re-equipment and the creation of new production facilities should be carried out by each state at its own expense.
