Initially planned launch in June
In the installation and testing building of site 254 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, pre-flight preparation of the Progress MS-27 transport cargo ship continues. Today, April 19, 2024, at the technical complex the ship was transported into a vacuum chamber for leak testing. The press service of Roscosmos spoke about this.
During the week, specialists from RSC «Energia» and specialized enterprises of Roscosmos carried out a series of comprehensive tests of the spacecraft to verify the readiness of its onboard systems for insertion into orbit and docking with the International Space Station. After completing autonomous tests of radio equipment in an anechoic chamber, the Progress MS-27 ship was delivered to Hall 103 and placed on the supports of the vacuum chamber. The upcoming cycle of pneumatic vacuum tests using a helium-air environment in the tested volumes is carried out to control the tightness of the ship's compartments and pneumatic hydraulic lines in ground conditions.
Launch of the launch vehicle «Soyuz-2.1a» with the ship «Progress MS-27» according to the program of the 88th ISS resupply mission is scheduled for May 2024.
