Already this summer
Partially unmanned «Swallow» will soon be able to receive the first passengers on the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), as reported to TASS by Deputy General Director of Russian Railways Evgeniy Charkin on the sidelines of the conference «Digital Industry of Industrial Russia» (CIPR).
«We are ready to accept the first passengers this summer,” he said in response to a question about the timing of putting such a train into operation.
Before this, the scientific and technical council of Russian Railways confirmed its readiness to launch an unmanned train on the MCC, in the cabin of which there will be a driver monitoring the situation.
Russian Railways expects to launch a completely unmanned train in 2026. Then such trains will appear in the Moscow metro.
