Honest all-wheel drive, not a crossover clutch like the Haval H5
The second generation Haval H5 made a lot of noise in China: a large and inexpensive SUV with a brutal appearance was liked by many. But the new Haval H5 did not remain alone in its niche for long: a formidable competitor called JMC Avenue had already been declassified.
The parameters of this SUV were revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry, and in many respects the JMC Avenue is superior to the Haval H5. Take, for example, the length: if the Haval H5 has 5190 mm, then the JMC Avenue has 5435 mm! True, the difference in wheelbase is smaller: 3140 mm for Haval versus 3270 mm for JMC.
JMC Avenue is built on the basis of the JMC Dadao pickup truck, which, in turn, is built on Ford Ranger units: it is not surprising that the Avenue in its appearance resembles Ford SUVs, and under the hood there is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with a capacity of 245 hp. The Chinese Ministry of Industry does not say anything about the gearbox, but it is most likely borrowed from the JMC Dadao, and this is either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed ZF automatic. The base drive is rear-wheel drive, the top version will have a classic part-time with a rigid connection to the front axle and differential locks.
Interestingly, the JMC Avenue will also have a purely electric version with one Bosch motor producing 245 hp. and a CATL traction battery with a capacity of 88 kWh (power reserve will be approximately 500 km).
