Serial vehicles based on the new generation Thor power plant – already next year
Geely announced the development of a hybrid system «Tor» new generation, which will enable a fully charged and refueled car to travel more than 2000 km. The technology itself will be presented this year, and production vehicles based on it will appear in 2025. At the center of the power plant there will be an internal combustion engine with a thermal efficiency of 46%.
The current hybrid system «Thor» bears the index 8848, it was introduced in February last year. The system includes a 1.5-liter BHE15 Plus engine with a thermal efficiency of 44.26%. This power plant, in particular, is used on the Geely Galaxy L7 crossover. The power of the system, consisting of an internal combustion engine and two electric motors, is 390 hp, the average consumption, measured using the WLTC method, — 5.23 l/100 km, maximum power reserve (here the CLTC method, which is less relevant to reality, was used for calculation) — 1370 km.
