The new Continental GT produces 771 hp. and 1000 Nm of torque
Bentley recently said goodbye to the old Continental GT with the release of the latest V8 version called Edition 8. Now the company has released the first images and technical specifications of the new Continental.
The new Bentley Continental GT will receive an Ultra Performance Hybrid system based on a V8 internal combustion engine and an electric motor with a total power of 771 hp. and 1000 Nm of torque. These power figures are even higher than the W12 found in the Batur, which can produce 740 hp. and 999 Nm.
The battery pack is enough for 80 km on pure electricity. Bentley's most powerful production car ever will feature four-wheel steering and all-wheel drive with torque vectoring. In addition, two-valve shock absorbers, a limited-slip differential and a 48-volt electric stability system are mentioned. The manufacturer says these improvements will make the new Continental GT “the most dynamic production Bentley car in the company's 105-year history.” At the same time, at the moment the indicators of dynamics and maximum speed are not specified.
Expected to weigh more than 2.5 tons, the next-generation Continental GT will debut in June as a coupe, with a convertible to follow soon.
