The team behind Final Fantasy VII Remake plans to surprise players with new gameplay elements and greater freedom in the third and final part of the trilogy.

In the latest episode of “Inside Square Enix”, key members of the team revealed what they are working on.

Teruki Endo emphasized that the team is focusing on expanding the combat system and the game loop. Shintaro Takai noted that the studio wants to surprise players with more detailed visuals, focusing on small elements of the game world, as well as more detailed side characters.

Game director Naoki Hamaguchi stated that wants fans to feel a huge change compared to previous installments. At the same time, he assured that work on the game is progressing quickly, but high quality of the game is a priority.

All of these changes are intended not only to please fans of the series, but also, perhaps most importantly, to create the epic ending that the game deserves. In addition, the final part of the remake is expected to open up new possibilities for other games in the Final Fantasy universe, which could also be updated, but probably won't be as big as FF7, which was split into three parts.
