Huawei and BAIC have opened pre-orders for their co-produced Stelato S9 large sedan, which is priced between $57,250 and $75,950 in China. Official sales of the car will begin in August.
Yu Chengdong, chairman of Huawei's automotive business unit, claims that the usable space in the cabin is as much as 3460 mm. The photos show a large folding armrest in the rear seat, turning the S9 into a four-seater. Seat control buttons are built into the door panels. A door behind the fold-down armrest accommodates an on-board refrigerator, and entertainment screens are available for rear passengers. The dimensions of the car are 5160 x 1987 x 1486 mm, and the wheelbase – 3050 mm.
Yu claims that the new car has the lowest drag coefficient among executive sedans and that this figure will be announced at the presentation in August. The S9 is known to feature side-view streaming cameras instead of mirrors.
Huawei has developed China's first high-precision 4D millimeter wave radar, which provides better viewing range (up to 35%) and greater accuracy (4 times), as well as faster response.
