The cars were planned to be sold for $250,000
BMW has no plans to put the Z4 Coupe concept into production. After its debut at last year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, rumors spread that BMW was planning to release the car in limited quantities. A new report says the automaker considered the idea but scrapped it.
BMWBlog reports that company executives have canceled the plan. BMW even developed a business case for the car that included producing 50 cars at a cost of $250,000 every. But this was not enough to implement the project. A BMW spokesman declined to comment when contacted by Motor1.
The concept replaced the Z4's retractable roof with a hardtop. BMW has modified the radiator grille by installing double vertical slats. The car was equipped with 20- or 21-inch 20-spoke wheels. Inside, BMW has opted for two-tone dark brown and light brown leather upholstery with thickly woven seats crafted in an Italian leather workshop.
