It will be installed on the Angara-A5 rocket and preparations will begin for the first launch

Comprehensive tests began at the Vostochny cosmodrome with the Orion upper stage, which was delivered there at the end of last year. Specialists from the Vostochny Space Center and RKK «Energia» removed the upper stage from the container and transported it to the workplace in the installation and testing building.

During the complex tests, pneumatic and electrical tests will be carried out, after which the upper stage will be filled with fuel components and compressed gases at a filling and neutralization station. Next «Orion» integrated into the space warhead for general assembly with the launch vehicle «Angara-A5».

After the rocket is transported to the launch complex, comprehensive tests will be carried out with the upper stage to test the systems before the first launch. Earlier, the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, reported that the first launch of the heavy launch vehicle «Angara-A5» from the Vostochny Cosmodrome could take place already in the first ten days of April. It is expected that at maximum load of the PP «Polyot» will be able to launch up to eight missiles «Angara-A5» per year.
