He commented on the recent incident
Stanislaus National Forest Manager Jason Kuiken offered Tesla cooperation after the incident with a Tesla Cybertruck stuck in the forest.
It is proposed to conduct an educational campaign on the use of SUVs outside good roads to help inexperienced drivers avoid similar problems in the future.
«We are always excited when new opportunities arise to explore our public lands, — said Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Jason Kuiken. — But I feel that work may need to be done to educate users of our Vehicle Usage Maps (MVUMs)».
«We are confident that if the Cybertruck driver had a better understanding of the topographical features shown on our maps, practiced the principles of «Leave No Trace» and was generally more prepared, this whole incident could have been avoided», — he added.
Kuiken expects the Cybertruck to attract new people to off-roading, but those people may not be familiar with proper off-road etiquette: «We'd like to invite Tesla Motors executives to sit down with us and develop educational experience for new Cybertruck owners.
