It is intended for AI output

Samsung produces a lot of semiconductor products, but primarily these are memory chips and its own Exynos SoC. Now Samsung is reportedly set to enter the accelerating AI processor market.

The Korean giant's solution will be called Mach-1 and will appear early next year. One would think that with this chip Samsung is going to compete with accelerators from Nvidia, AMD and Intel, but no. The fact is that Mach-1 — This is a processor for inference, not training. It is based on an ASIC combined with LPDDR memory. The Samsung chip is said to have a unique feature that will reduce the memory bandwidth requirements for output by about eight times compared to existing solutions. True, there are no technical details here yet.
