Samsung remains the sales leader

Experts from the MTS operator shared interesting statistics after analyzing the Russian smartphone market. In 2024, there will be high demand for smartphones with flexible screens. Thus, from January to May, 29 thousand such devices were purchased in Russia for a total of 2.9 billion rubles, which is more than in the same period in 2023 by 7% in unit terms and 16% in monetary terms.

As experts note, the main factor in sales growth was the expansion of the range, primarily due to Chinese brands. For example, at the end of May this year there are already 30 such models on the Russian market. Also, smartphones with flexible screens are becoming more technologically advanced and affordable.

One of the most popular brands is Honor, represented in the folding smartphone category with the Honor Magic V2 model. The smartphone appeared in Russia in February and within four months became a bestseller, allowing the brand to become one of the top five popular manufacturers in this segment. Company analysts predict that by the end of this year, sales of the model may more than double, which will allow Honor to become one of the top three manufacturers of foldable devices.
