Testing takes place between the central railway station and Kazan airport

VTB Bank and «Russian Railways» implement «smart payment» by geolocation in the «ProTransport+» application. A pilot project was launched on the line between the central railway station and G. Tukai Airport in Kazan.

Thanks to «smart payment» the passenger does not need to buy a ticket to a specific station in advance: the application determines the passenger’s position using Bluetooth tags located at the stations. The ticket price is dynamic and depends on the distance the passenger has traveled.

In order to use the service, you need to install the «ProTransport+» application. and link your bank card. At the departure station, you need to launch an application that identifies the geo-sensor and confirm the start of the trip.

Sensor at the departure station – this is the starting point of the route from which the final cost of the trip will be calculated. The system will check the presence of the required amount on the passenger’s bank card and generate a QR code – e-ticket. At the arrival station, the application will also automatically determine the passenger's location and calculate the final cost of the trip.
