OS, office suites, antiviruses and so on
In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Digital Development, state corporations and companies with state participation are required to switch to domestic software by the end of 2024, as reported by Vedomosti.
Starting from January 1, 2025, state-owned companies are required to use Russian operating systems, office suites, anti-virus programs and virtualization systems. From January 1, 2026, they must also switch to domestic database management systems.
The representative of the Ministry of Digital Development noted that the final timing of the transition will depend on the volume of digital infrastructure and data that needs to be transferred when switching to Russian solutions. It is these factors that determine the setting of different deadlines for different classes of software.
Failure to implement these recommendations may have a negative impact on the activities of state-owned companies, including the allocation of subsidies and other financial support.
