The timing of their release is not specified

Apple has tapped Samsung Display and LG Display to develop foldable display panels for its future devices, as reported by gizmochina with reference to TheElec. The latter relies on its own supply chain sources in its articles.

Samsung will develop a foldable panel for a device with a diagonal of 7 to 8 inches, which could be the new iPhone. Samsung is preparing solutions for two options that will have a horizontal or vertical folding axis.

LG Display, on the other hand, is developing a 10-inch foldable panel that is expected to be designed for the new iPad.

However, Apple is in no hurry, since the crease on modern folding screens is still not going away. Apple told both manufacturers that they must get it fixed. This will be decisive when the screens are approved.
