Russian President Vladimir Putin prefers not to use foreign cars for his work trips. Yes, they remain in the garage for now, but they will leave it after reaching a certain mileage, as reported by Denis Simonov, head of the press and public relations department of the Special Purpose Garage of the FSO of the Russian Federation.
«Most of the garage consists of domestically produced cars. There are foreign cars, but the head of state does not use them, and they will leave the garage after reaching a certain mileage», — said Denis Simonov.
For the past six years, Vladimir Putin has preferred the domestic Aurus limousine both in Russia and abroad. This car was first unveiled at its inauguration on May 7, 2018. Previously, the President used Mercedes-Benz cars.
In September 2023, Putin announced the start of mass production of domestic Aurus cars, noting that the cost of the cars would be halved. He also instructed the government to transfer officials to domestic cars.
In 2023, motor transport institutions subordinate to the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation purchased 33 Lada Vesta cars for State Duma deputies.
