PlayStation has big plans for the development of the mobile direction

At a recent conference, the Japanese company revealed details of its expansion into the mobile market.

Most of the projects being developed are service games and single-player story-based adventures. But there is another segment in which Sony wants to make a statement. We're talking about mobile games. The corporation has significantly expanded its structures, and some of the acquired teams will focus on developing games for mobile devices. Sony is partnering with third-party developers to offer new features. Hermen Hulst revealed plans:

“When it comes to mobile devices, we are working hard to build a very strong and experienced team that will create content. We're eager to expand our expertise to new audiences in the mobile space. We're taking a slightly more measured approach compared to the aggressive strategy you've seen on PC. This is because PC is obviously more closely tied to the core of our development than mobile devices. However, we are taking a strategic approach, also in the sense of collaborating with some of the leading companies in this field. We work with various partners such as NCSoft and we learn a lot from these collaborations. In conclusion, we are very excited about the upcoming game launches that we will announce in the future.”

There are currently no exact details regarding games for mobile devices. There is information that one of them was the mysterious MMO Horizon. This game should be the fruit of collaboration between Sony and NCsoft. Mobile games are a different type of entertainment than console games. Already, you can find a lot of negative reviews from people who criticize Sony for moving away from a long-standing strategy. But Hulst insists that storytelling games will continue to be a mainstay of the PlayStation.
