On the day of the Xbox Series X announcement, Phil Spencer said that Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 should be a game that will demonstrate the capabilities of the Xbox Series X|S.
Xbox Marketing Head Aaron Greenberg cited an excerpt from a Games Radar editorial praising Hellblade 2.
- “Not only is it a fluid and responsive action-adventure that boasts best-in-class visual fidelity, but it's also an experience that has something meaningful to it.”
His subscribers reacted quickly and decisively to the news.
- “Smooth and responsive. 30 frames per second…”
- “And runs at 30 frames per second.”
- “Sorry, but smoothness and responsiveness at 30fps don't go hand in hand.”
- “30 frames per second is not smooth…”
- “Smooth and responsive” is what I mean every time I play a game at 30fps.”
- “That’s a lie, I don’t play games at 30fps.”
Gamers accused Greenberg of lying, recalling that a Microsoft representative had previously stated that 60 frames per second would be standard on the Xbox Series X, and in some cases you can expect 120fps
Even more people are making fun of the fact that Hellblade 2 will probably get 60 fps on PS5 – this is a reference to Pentiment, which ran much smoother on PlayStation 5 than on XSX.
- “Will the 60 fps update be available on PS at launch?”
- “On Xbox the game runs at 30 fps, and on PS5 at 60 fps.”
There are plenty of complaints about the length of the gameplay. Gamers claim that Hellblade 2 was developed for 6 years and is designed for 6 hours of gameplay:
- “1 year for each an hour of gameplay…”
