In an interview with Bloomberg, Takuro Mizobe, CEO of Pocketpair and creator of Palworld, emphasized the importance of multiplayer in games.
According to the CEO, playing with friends adds an extra layer of fun.
“A game without multiplayer simply doesn’t fit in the era we live in today.”
The statement is controversial, but industry giants seem to agree with it. Publishers tend to emphasize multiplayer, and EA recently said that players are interested in service games.
Elsewhere in the interview, the CEO stated that Palworld's unique aesthetic was one of the main factors in its success.
Mizobe also emphasized that leaving behind corpses adds another unique element to Palworld. Unlike most games, these bodies remain on the map, a decision made after much thought.
These are just a few of the aspects that set Pocketpair's latest release apart and made it a hit 2024.
