Mercedes-Benz plans to sell all its car dealerships in Germany, as reported by TASS with reference to the local publication Bild.

The company plans to begin negotiations with possible new showroom owners, of which there are about 80 in the country. A Mercedes-Benz representative confirmed that the decision applies to all showrooms located in cities and rural areas. A branch at the company's headquarters in Stuttgart is also up for sale, with the company saying the automaker is not experiencing financial difficulties.

The dealerships up for sale employ 8,000 people, who will retain their jobs under the terms of the agreements that Mercedes-Benz plans to sign with the new owners.

Mercedes-Benz plans to sell its showrooms to those that are ready to invest and have no economic problems, while the company excludes the sale of all showrooms to one company.
