Players haven’t seen Blizzard’s unusual survival game, but it looks like the developers are still preparing a surprise
Blizzard had been developing a survival game for some time, but the project was eventually cancelled. Perhaps the company is still preparing something new.
The attention of the media was attracted by the list of vacancies: Blizzard is now looking for employees to work on some unannounced game – senior specialists are required. For example, we need a creative director, a director for the development of combat AI, an art director, and more.
It is not yet entirely clear what kind of game we are talking about. However, there is a small clue in the job description of a creative director in the responsibilities section:
“Fully manage the development of our game's IP [intellectual property], working with art and game design leadership to create the setting, characters, themes, and multi-season story arcs within that world.”
Such an announcement could mean not only a new IP – it is possible that Xbox (Microsoft) has decided to return some classic Blizzard franchises after purchase, a similar desire that Phil Spencer has previously spoken about.
